6pm June 19th WOMEN’s PADDLE-FIT CLASS “SUP 101 & Distance Paddle” at Vancouver Lake
June 19, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm PDT
JUNE WOMEN’S PADDLE-FIT CLASS ~ PADDLE 101 & DISTANCE PADDLING
June Paddle-Fit classes will be focused on SUP Paddling 101 & Technique. These classes are perfect for all you beginning SUP paddlers! It is our hope that these classes will get you comfortable enough on the boards to progress in July to the Strength & Balance Classes. Of course, attendance is not required for this progression. All of our 1st time paddlers last season took right to the strength & balance programming, we just wanted to offer a low pressure, no pressure class that lets you simply paddle, and ease your way into the sport! June classes are held on Wednesday’s at 4 & 6 pm at Vancouver Lake (location subject to change). The park does have a $3 parking fee. Tickets are $30 per class, with pre-book & purchase of 4 or more, discount price is $25 each (this discount is per individual). Message Michelle for ticket purchase discount
Class focus & flow:
We will start every class with a quick warm up on shore, paddle adjustment, how to get on the board, technique on how to stand up, paddle technique & turning, and then we hit the water!
Once we are all on the boards, the group will gets a few minutes to free paddle & get comfortable.
As a group we paddle across the lake and back, using the buoy system to create structure & challenge. Michelle will be with you the whole way, giving direction & support! This distance paddle gives the girls the opportunity to practice their paddling skills, while still getting a great workout!
Classes tend to run about an hour long, give or take a few for distance and weather conditions.
Equipment:
NW SUP will provide the high-quality paddle board and all safety equipment required. All you gotta do is show up, ready to grow & learn, and of course have fun!!
*NOTE: Attendees must be on a Red Paddle Co SUP, so we can plan our programming around the performance & limitations of these specific high quality boards
Clothing:
No special clothing required, but lightweight tighter clothing like exercise wear or swim suit type material is recommended. Swim suits can be worn, but may not be as functional, as we will be doing a lot of movement. June weather is still on the cooler side, so long sleeve is recommended. NW SUP has loaner rash guards & neoprene booties if needed!
Accountability Policy:
We are true Northwesterners!! NW SUP & Fitness does not cancel classes due to rain, however weather advisory is always followed for extreme weather conditions. If a class is canceled due to weather conditions, refunds will be given, or a future class date may be selected if openings are available.
*Class spot will only locked & guaranteed after ticket purchase
*Refunds will not be given If you cancel or miss a class
